Basic Printmaking Techniques (Ages 18+)
Saturday 24th September 2022 10.00am - 1.00pm
Service Description
In this workshop you'll learn how to make collagraph prints, monoprints and textra pak etched prints. First up I'll get you started on making up a collagraph plate (up to A4 in size) from textured items such as corrugated cardboard, twine, and other thin profile textures such as bread tags and cut out shapes. This may involve using some glue, so whilst the plate is drying we'll get started on some making some monoprints. The monoprints will be made on glass sheets (up to A4 in size) and I have 4 x small 'Gelli' plates for you to share between 6. people. I'll then show you how to etch a design onto a small tetra pak plate (10 x 12 cm) from my long-life milk carton stash! I also have a collection of stamps and stencils so if you'll be able to further enhance your prints as they dry. All materials are supplied, but please feel free to bring along some interesting textures, foliage, stamps or stencils to use in the printmaking process. These are super easy, fun and addictive techniques, which you'll be able to continue with at home with fantastic and instant results. • Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied for a late morning tea. * Please note that this short workshop ends at 1.00pm so you can get home or to the cafe for lunch, however I'm happy for it to run an extra 30 mins if you need the time to finish up what you're working on or for it to dry before transporting your work home. :-)
